Many restaurants nowadays refer to themselves as bistros, despite the fact that their food, ambiance and prices are at odds with the true definition of the term.  In France, a bistro is where blue collar workers go to eat homestyle fare at very modest prices; it is often served on bare wood or with draught beer and vin ordinaire.
Daily blackboard specials are prepared by Chef Jacky Robert, whose career and reputation are well-known to both Boston and west coast diners. Manager Loic Le Garrec is a native of Brittany and a veteran of Boston and New York's top dining rooms.
In true bistro tradition, entree prices are under $12 at lunch and under $20 at dinner (unchanged prices since opening April 1st, 2005)

Denis Vallet has a new libation for the summer: The Sexy Roberts. It is made with fresh cantaloupe. Perhaps the most sexy drink of his long list of creations. Could it be sexier than the Dirty French Chef or the Oh La La Chocolate? (Only served at the Columbus location after 11:00PM)  De tous temps, la poitrine des femmes a fasciné et fait fantasmer un bon nombre d'hommes. Ce ne sont d'ailleurs pas les surnoms, parfois peu glorieux, qui manquent pour les qualifier : nénés, roberts, melons, lolos, mamelles ou encore nichons.

Jazz Brunch every Sunday, with the Mary Davy Trio. Starting in June, the jaz will be performed at the Columbus location until September.
