American
restaurateurs shamelessly slap the term
"bistro" on everything from awful
chain outlets to places with $55 entrees. The
French reserve the term for modest neighborhood
spots like Petit Robert Bistro that
unpretentiously serve delicious, relatively
simple meals at workingman's prices.
"Little Bob's" hits the bistro
bull's-eye squarely with fine traditional
Parisian fare, brusque but professional service,
and nary an entrée over $20. C'est le luxe sans
le luxe.

Roast Turkey
For
Thankgsgiving, we will be serving the
traditionnal turkey dinner with all the
trimmings. We'll also be serving our
regular menu a la carte.
In
France, Roast Turkey is served for
Christmas. Turkey because of it's size is
one of the most convivial dish for a large
number of people and families in particular.
On Thanksgiving, Jacky Robert gets up early
and starts roasting all the turkeys for our
3 locations.

Thanksgiving
Anecdote
Jacky's first Thanksgiving
was with his roommate Pierre Jamet at his
aunt Martha's house. It is well known that
French people don't like cinnamon so when
the pumpkin pie was served and they tasted
it, the two French men gave each other a
knowing look. Not wanting to be impolite,
they finished their portions. Then, Jacky
told his aunt, " Pierre wants another
piece of Pumpkin pie." Aunt Martha
was thrilled for her success and Pierre
finished his slice of pie with a smile and
to the last crumb..

Yan Can Cook
Our Needham location
sous-chef was thrilled to serve Jacky Robert's
long time friend Martin Yan. Martin commented
on the Quenelle "This is a dish Chinese
people must love". Manuella, who is just
returning from maternity leave, did a
magnificent job. Martin said: "If Yan can
cook, you can too"....
