Concept

Many
restaurants nowadays refer to themselves as bistros,
despite the fact that their food, ambiance and
prices are at odds with the true definition of the
term. In France, a bistro is where blue collar
workers go to eat homestyle fare at very modest
prices; it is often served on bare wood or with
draught beer and vin ordinaire.
Daily
blackboard specials are prepared by Chef Jacky
Robert, whose career and reputation are well-known
to both Boston and west coast diners. Manager Loic
Le Garrec is a native of Brittany and a veteran of
Boston and New York's top dining rooms.
In true bistro
tradition, entree prices are under $12 at lunch and
under $20 at dinner (unchanged prices since opening
April 1st, 2005)

This Liver Paté is usualy made from liver
(pork or chicken) and pork fat. At PRB, we
make it with clariffied butter instead. It
gives the paté a smooth texture and
incomparable taste. Served as part of our
pate' trio, it comes with classic
accompaniments for just $7 and feeds two.

Breast
Cancer Fight
The
SEXY ROBERT melon cocktail (pictured) has
caused some controversy in our South End
location. Some say sexy - oui !
Others say sexist. Here's our
compromise: for each SEXY ordered,
we will donate $2 to the Art BeCAUSE
Breast Cancer Foundation.

Juan is "Monsieur Paté"
It's just occurred to
us that Juan Tajeda, who worked at the
venerable Maison Robert, and who has been our
in-house
Paté Master since 2005, looks a bit like
Jacques Cousteau, no ? In addition
to Country Paté (picture), Rillettes,
and chicken liver paté, Juan also makes
delicious vegetarian patés, plus
sausages, quenelles and tasty meat
stews.
Thank you Juan for you fidelity and
consistency.
